
Ga-Matlala Ramoshebo is a village found in 1925 by our ancestors. It has always been a traditional village that had its own community laws and policies that have governed its residents.
The history goes back where it start with Kgoshi Rahlagane in Malegale. After Kgoshi passed on, the chieftaincy was awarded to Kgoshi Mashung Mapara, who moved from malegale to Heidelburg then moved again to Pretoria (HF), from Pretoria (HF) they moved to Kalakaselote (Rust De Venter).
This is the place where Kgoshi Mashung Mapara passed on. Kgoshi awarded his two sons the chieftaincy while he was still alive, Lehwelere and Ramoshebo. The two brothers decided to go separate ways in 1925 from Kalakaselote (Rust De Venter).
Kgoshi Ramoshebo and his people moved to Toitskraal Ga-Matlala Ramoshebo in 1925 and only paid the purchase price of the land to Mr Du-Toit in 1926. Kgoshi lived his life Ga-Matlala Ramoshebo until 1931, where he passed on.
