Dikoma

Koma is the most important practice we undergo and all advantages of this practice are mostly realised when a person has grown. It has been important practice for over centuries and it should continue being the most important practice in our culture.

Moshate will continuously communicate any information about Dikoma. All Ga-Matlala Ramoshebo residents will need to go back to the old days, where they will need to make a commitment to take Bana Komeng.

If parents don’t do that, they may forfeit all the benefits the child was going to get in future from the village.

The purpose of these restrictions is to make sure that the people of this village continue with unity of culture without exploiting or taking other people for a ride.

Children will be prepared academically before they can go to Lebollong, where a classroom attendance will help our children to have a better understanding of our Koma practices. We believe that with consultations of the parents and residents, there will/should be age restriction.
